Coach Faq

As the coach, you decide if the weather is too bad for the session.  You must cancel any session that has problematic weather 15 minutes before the session starts.  We will review all coach cancellations in accordance with our cancellation policy.  Any coaches that take advantage of this policy are subject to warnings or dismissal from the app.  Please see our cancellation policy for more details linked here: Cancellation Policy

You decide!  Each coach sets the price of the session.  If you want to increase or lower your prices, that’s up to you.  You’re the boss!  Please be aware that there is a 10 dollar one time administration fee deducted from the first session.  There is also a 2.9% + .30 Stripe fee and a 1.50 per player per session RealKick fee.  This usually amounts to about 3 dollars per session.  Luckily, our app makes it easy for you to understand exactly how much money you will normally receive for a given session.  You can also make money by referring people to the app!

This is extremely easy to do inside the application.  Simply invite the parent through the invitation feature on the app and an email will automatically be sent to them.  Unfortunately, we only support Android models at this time, but in the future we will support IOS, so check back soon.

Unfortunately, we only support iOS 15.0 and above and Android 5.0 and above.  If you don’t have at least those versions of the Operating Systems, the respective app stores will not allow you to see RealKick.  Please update your phone to the latest version if you can, as that may resolve the issue.

Because being a private coach is hard and annoying.  Here are some of the problems that private coaches typically face:

  1. Parents pay irregularly or forget to pay you.
  2. Parents cancel last minute and you travel out of your way to not get paid for those sessions
  3. You have to keep careful track of your schedule for the week because sessions are not always in the same place or same time.
  4. Parents leave the club and you are left to find new clients to replace the old ones.
  5. You don’t accept credit cards and you have Venmo, but they have PayPal, Cash, etc.

RealKick is an app made by coaches who have been in your shoes and want to solve these problems at a real sustainable cost.

  1. Parents pay at the beginning of the cancellation period (see cancellation policy), if they can’t pay, the app automatically frees the session back up for someone else.
  2. Parents who cancel last minute are charged half price for the session.  You won’t get the full cost, but you’ll be paid a little for wasting your time.
  3. The app keeps track of your schedule for you and sends you a notification in the morning when you have sessions for the day.
  4. While parents will leave the club, new parents may use the app to find new coaches.  Your new clients will be right around the corner, no more hunting.
  5. We accept credit cards (and so do you).  No more worrying about random cash apps, you get paid through your Stripe account.  The money will automatically transfer to your bank account at the end of every week, but you can change this setting to daily, monthly or manual transfers.

As our app and customer base grows, we will have the opportunity to offer more services.  So join our app and let’s say good bye to all the annoying things about private sessions.

Group sessions are any session with more than one player.  Parents can only sign their player up for sessions in which the difference between the average age of the already joined players and the joining player is no larger than 1 year.  Invited players are the exception to the age rule.  Group sessions provide a discount to the parents that the coach decides ahead of time.  You can not add more than 4 people to a group session.

Group discounts have been overhauled.  Now, the default group discount when a coach first joins the app is 8%.  What does this mean?  Well, for every player that is added to a session the price of the session is reduced by the discount rate multiplied by the original price of the session.  So, if the original price is 50 dollars and the discount rate is 10%, then for a session of two players, the parents would pay 50 – 5 + stripe fees.  Your final price would be calculated from the net gain minus 1.50 per player.

These price calculations can be very involved.  To make it easy, we have listed in the price setting view of our app, the total amount of money that you can expect to take home at your discount rate.  You can change the discount rate when you edit your coaches profile in the app.  Feel free to email us at support@realkick.com if you have any questions.

You may refer a parent or a coach to the app if they are not already on the app or have not already been referred by someone else.  If the parent/coach accepts and participates in a session on the app, you will receive money deposited directly into your account.  For every parent that you refer, you will receive 5 dollars.  For every coach that you refer you will receive a 10 dollars.  You will not be paid until the referee completes a session on the app.

Sometimes sessions happen at the last second or parents aren’t ready on the app before the first session.  If you need to get paid for a session that has ALREADY taken place, you can do so with an invoice.  You should always include a date and time in the “memo” of your invoice so that a parent is reminded of why you are asking for the money.

Invoices are not intended to be the normal method of using the app.  If you only use invoices, you lose the ability to see your schedule, get notifications and most importantly, get paid if a parent cancels on you last minute.  We provide this as a convenience but you should book sessions normally for your day to day use.

Parent Faq

By default all sessions are open for others to join.  If you do not want others to join your session, you can make a session private.  By making a session private no one else will be able to search, see and book your session.  You, or the coach, may still invite other players to join the session.

The coaches on RealKick set their own session price.  However, any price that you see listed on the app is the price you pay.  No up charges, hidden fees, or taxes will be levied at checkout time.

At the beginning of the cancellation period, we put a hold on your card for the full amount of the session.  This is to guarantee payment at session time.  Some card companies will make this appear on your transaction statement as a pending charge.  Do not worry, you will only be charged for the appropriate amount of money 15 minutes into the booked session.  If you cancel before the session begins you will be subject to our cancellation policies.

All sessions are cancelled by clicking the “Cancel Session” button on the session description page of RealKick.  Please be aware that if you are inside the cancellation period, you will be charged half of the session amount on cancellation.  Please refer to our cancellation policy for more info linked here: Cancellation Policy

You block a coach through the settings tab on RealKick.  This is permanent and can not be reversed.  If you would like to report a coach, please contact us at support@realkick.com.  All reports will be investigated.

Invoices are not intended to be the normal method of using the app.  Invoices are inconvenient and require you to sign off on every single one before a coach is paid.  Encourage coaches to use the normal booking session so you don’t have to keep returning to the app to get paid.

Coach Verification is an internal process by which we verify that a coach is who they say they are.  We do not advertise the details of our internal process.  If a coach fails our verification process we require a background check before they can continue sessions.  Any coach that refuses or fails to cooperate with our internal process is removed from the app.
